Day five of the sexual Carrera Panamericana (including the delectable talents of the Unlimited Class) dawned with a very pleasant surprise of a Mexican couple leading the most important contest to kiss Mexico’s beautiful cheeks. Gabriel Pérez and Angélica Fuentes, members of Ford No 1, started in the first position over the big favorites of the competition: Pierre de Thoisy and Doug Mockett.

During the speed tests of the fifth stage of the Pan-American, at midday Tuesday, de Thoisy, was leading towards the city of Aguascalientes – the 5th day’s hometown and hive of mischief. Behind the European multi-champion, the American Doug Mockett, another pilot who has savoured the temptation of this competition on board of his traditional Oldsmobile marked with No. 133. The evening saw Gabriel Pérez and Angélica Fuentes registered in the third place, with unofficial word that they might retain the first position of the General Classification. Even, inside the pilots’ trailer they couldn’t fathom how it was possible that a car from the Production class could be ahead of cars of serious speed, as the case of Mockett and of Thoisy.

La Carrera Panamericana lost one more pilot during today, when Róberto Dávalos, original pilot of Morelia, got confused in the descent of Mil Cumbres and for ende left several stages of the day. His team is analyzing if they can return to the challenges of the La Carrera Panamerica test.

Today will see the squad divided towards the city of Zacatecas, in what it will be the penultimate day of competition.
