A small Gumball 2007 Teams update this time. All about Bugatti Veyrons and Team 13 entering a Porsche Carrera GT.
Team 13 – Porsche Carrera GT
Steve Schimmel and Freddy Laker join this years Gumball 3000 in a Porsche Carrera GT. As you can read on their rally blog they are not to experienced with the Carrera GT but Steve does have something with number 13, hopefully it brings them more luck then this unfortunate Carrera GT owner.
Their Carrera GT will be equipped with 3 bullet cameras, two of them mounted over their shoulders filming the front and one with a wide angle lense filming their faces. One of the front facing cameras takes a picture every minute and after the whole rally they can turn it into a 7 minute video (brilliant guys!). They promise to make 3 or 4 videos a day but as we experienced doing a rally is hard enough already so we would be happy with just 1 video every two days.
Now all we have to do is wait for the Carrera GT to make it to London in time as the shipping company decided to drop the container with their car in it from the cargolist the first time. We hope it makes it to the startline in time!

According to Gumball 3000 headquarters there will be 3 Bugatti Veyrons at the grid this year. One of them leaves the factory next monday only so it will be brand new. After encountering two of them in real life our verdict is that if you are looking for the ultimate Gumball car the Veyron can’t beat the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 at the moment. Of course it’s the fastest, strongest and most expensive car at the market right now, but nothing beats the thrill you get from revving the Lamborghini through the crowds!
