This Britisch little sportscar, looking very like Caterham, was presented in 2006. The car was called the Double R and was available with 200, 260 or 300 bhp. After about 2 years, Brooke is now presenting a supercharged version. It’ll be shown on the Autosport International Motor show that began yesterday.
The base-version from Brooke reaches 62 mph (100kmh) in just 3,98 seconds. The new supercharged version will only weigh 500 kg and have a 320 bhp strong Cosworth engine behind the seats.
That will allow you to sprint to 62 mph in less than 3 seconds, indeed coming close to the Bugatti Veyron. The topspeed is ‘only’ 165 mph (264 kmh), which is not bad for a car without any roof or windows. The Double R will cost about € 53 000.
