Ford GT40 Shelby 85th Commemorative
By Steven on May 2, 2008 in Car News, Supercars

We are used seeing car producers presenting special modified models of their cars when they have a special anniversay to celebrate. This time it’s Shelby’s Ford GT40 85th birthday and they come forward with this “Commemorative version”. The new MKII GT40 follows the original concept but it get a new Shelby engine under the hood, a 427FE V8 to be precise. The engine is delivered by Roush and no specs are released yet but when reading it’s a V8 we know we can expect something with a lot of wild horses…

The car will available in 3 colours: Arcadian Blue, Black and Red. That are the same colours the racers used in the 1-2-3 Le Mans victory, back in 1966. The production will be limited and is planned at 85 pieces of each colour.

Next to the exclusive colour you get some nice features such as a record sale into Shelby Registry, Shelby MSO and dash place, Carroll Shelby engraved door handels and etched left and right front headlight covers, leather seating, 85th Commemorative hood badge and 85th Special Edition decal. Nice to know is that the cars will be available in right and left hand drive!
