Aston Martin V8 Vantage getting more power
By Steven on May 24, 2008 in Aston Martin, Car News, Supercars

What we expeted for a long time yet, the baby Aston Martin, the V8 is getting a stronger engine. Will this result in even more lovely engine sounds? Let’s hope so, although that will be hard! The current 4.3 liter V8 will be replaced by a 4.7 liter V8 creating 45 bhp extra pushing the output over the 400 bhp cape to 425 bhp. Together with the horses, the torque raised aswell, from 410 Nm to 470 Nm! Thanks to this extra power the sprint from 0 to 62 mph will be covered in 4.8 seconds and a topspeed will be clocked at 181 mph (290 kmh).
Next to engine the Aston Martin engineers also changed the aërodynamica and some other parts of the exterior. Both optional gearboxes have been modified aswell. Thanks to that, shifting up with the flippers can be done faster now!
The modifications are based on both models, coupé and roadster, but when exactly the modifications will be available for the drivers isn’t known yet.

Wouldn’t that bring the BHP up to 445?

No, read it again and notice I wrote ‘pushing the output over the 400 bhp cape’ ;)
