Friday June 11th at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2008

At the first day of the Goodwood Festival of Speed a number of race, street and concept cars raced up the famous Goodwood hill. Most interesting for us was the ‘Supercar’ class, that as usual had an amazing lineup for the public. As every year supercar manufacturers and coachbuilders show off their latest builds during this hillclimb race.

This year a number of models had their driving debut at Goodwood. Maserati showed off their Maserati Gran Turismo S, presented earlier at the Geneva Auto Salon. This S model has upgraded Brembo brakes and the same 4.7 liter V8 that can be found in the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. Aston Martin took both the DBS as the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage RS concept to Goodwood. The V12 Vantage RS was presented as a concept at the Geneva Auto Salon in March, however not long after the show Aston Martin announced they are taking the car into production. Most important British debut however is for Jaguar with the Jaguar XF-R.

Other supercars present at the first day of Goodwood’s Festival of Speed included the Bugatti Veyron, KTM X-Bow, Ariel Atom, Volkswagen Scirocco, Nissan GT-R, Farbio GTS and many more. Pictures of the first day at the 2008 Goodwood Festival of Speed can be found below!
