Spyshots: Porsche 998
By Des on Jul 16, 2008 in Car News, Spyshots

Porsche only recently revealed their facelifted 997 carrera, s and 4 models, and already spyshots of an early Porsche 998 mule have surfaced. The Porsche 998 model is planned for 2011 so it’s still in the early development stages using a 997 body to hide the new 998 platform.
The spyshots show extended wheel arches, which means the Porsche 998 will have a wider track and will be slightly bigger than the 997 model. While it’s still very early in the development of the Porsche 998, engine configurations and further details remain unknown. But according to MotorAuthority it’s likely the new 911 will use the same flat-six engine as the current model. The new PDK dual-clutch gearbox and the standard six-speed manual from the 997 are likely to find their way into the 998 aswell.
