Dortmund, Germany based tuner 9ff have released a few details on one of their latest projects. Like many of their previous creations this one is just as nutty. Underpowered is definately not a word that you could use to explain this car, it boasts 670bhp and 800nm of torque, thats a staggering 147bhp upgrade from the standard model! A vast amount of technology has been incorporated into this car to achieve it’s headline figures with a special variable turbine geometry turbocharger (VTG Turbos) providing the bulk of the power hike. The main features of a VTG Turbo is the ability to provide low level power through the use of tiny vanes that extract exhaust flow back onto the turbine blades. The VTG Turbo comes as standard on most 911 Turbos, GT3’s and GT2’s however 9ff’s version is tweaked to provide better results.

0-62mph is done away with in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of well over 200mph. A great deal else was modified in this car including the ECU to raise the rev limiter and a new adjustable exhaust valve. Air intake manifolds allow a greater air flow over the tubo’s and therefore some increased power and the car was optimised on the nurburgring to fine tune the suspention to a level 9ff’s engineers where happy with. 9ff’s website also contains an option with which the 997 GT2 can be tuned to 900bhp, although we have no details of this at the moment.
