Audi have released pictures of the new Audi R8 V10. The car is due to be introduce formally at the Detroit Motorshow 2009, one of the first motoring events of the new calender year. The V10 engine will close the gap between Lamborghini and it’s mother company, using the same engine as that found in the Gallardo LP560-4.

There will be 528bhp on tap from the 5.2 litre unit, also the same unit that powered the Audi R8 LMS GT3 racer. Noticable diferrencesare the LED headlights for the main and dipped beams, a first for any production vehicle we believe. The usual Audi daytime running lights seen in vehicles such as the A5, a new rear diffuser creating more down force, twin oval tailpipes in place of the quad exhaust of the V8 version. In all it’s more reminiscent to an RS model.

You can have it in a six-speed manual or a semi-automatic box. This aids it in getting from0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 196 mph. There are interior tweaks also such as the Bang and Olufson stereo which you would expect in a car costing 121,800 (140,800).
