Top Gear

Yesterday it was again time for an episode of Top Gear, the last but one for this year. Clarkson and May did what had to happen once, testing the ‘green’ cars out there. Therefore Jeremy took out the Tesla Roadster to see what the performances are of this American electric car and offcourse The Stig is trying to race it as fast as possible around the track. Funny thing is that they needed two Tesla’s, simply because the batteries of one couldn’t handle the Top Gear tests.

James went to the other side of the Great Ocean to test the Honda Clarity. The first car on hydrogen and that is ready for the public. Despite the very high production costs for this car, Honda does believe that it can work out! For the moment the car can’t be bought but it can be rented for $ 600 (€ 450 – £ 400) per month.

Luckely we have Richard Hammond, he denies the green and electric cars. He went out to take place behind the steering wheel of several icons from the Touring Car championships from the past 50 years. Last but not least there’s offcourse the “star in a resonably priced car”. Yesterday the Top Gear producers managed to get Tom Jones in the show. To see how fast or slow he lapped the circuit you can click here or go to Top Gear’s homepage.
