Unique R8 R Boosts MTM Individual

A MTM R8 R is something special, but there could be chance you met up with somebody who got the exact same car. MTM will now give you a guarantee that this will certainly not happen. The new individualisation program meets all your wishes and ideas. To give the program a boost they created a R8 R that does not meet any second car.

The most striking is the garish green paint, which became famous on the Porsche GT3. “Porsche 2D8“ is the exact name of this colour. As apart from the paint of the aluminium body, MTM also painted areas in the engine compartment and left further accents all over the car. Examples are the four black brake callipers, the green “R8” nameplate on the black fuel cap and alloy wheels in glossy black showing the green nameplate “MTM forged” on one spoke per wheel.

In the interior, the colour is repeated on the suede MTM steering wheel and the “Quattro” nameplate on the glove department flap. Even the “R8” logo on the gear-shift shines in green.

It is not all about the new paint job. There is even significant performance enhancement. By adding a compressor to the standard V8 the performance of the 4.2 litre engine increased from 420hp (313kW) by a third up to 560hp (418kW). The maximum torque increases by 34 percent from 430 to 580Nm. MTM also offers this power improvement for the Audi R8 with the V10-engine. By exchanging the motor electronics, the performance increases from 520hp (388kW) to 560hp (418kW).

If we think back to the road test we did with the R8 R, at least one thing comes up. The sound of the R8 R was superb and is now rendered by a new exhaust system with valve control which leads into four brand new black ceramic-coated end pipes. Re-engineered side-blades which direct the airflow from behind the doors right into the middle engine serve the necessary air supply.

An extensive aerodynamics package renders the necessary downthrust. At the front, the splitter made of carbon fibre, side skirts and the rear diffuser keeps the car on the tarmac. All parts have influences from the green paint job.

MTM added its Lift-up-System. This option elevates the front- or rear axle by 40 millimetres and enables you to survive any speed bump in your favorite city.
