Video Hennessey CTS-V 700 Calls Onstar After Drag Race

Hennessey’s 700-plus-horsepower CTS-V isn’t new for us, although the fact that it calls the GM OnStar emergency alert system after a 1/4 mile drag race is definitely something new. The vehicle accelerated so hard it activated the system automatically. The video below shows what happened.

The car ran an 11-second, 128-mph quarter mile last week hitting at least 0.99 g of longitudinal acceleration. Just enough for the OnStar’s emergency system to alert the driver of a “vehicle event” and call the emergency hot line.
