In exactly one month from now the flag will drop for one of the most promising new events of this year: Royal Drive 2010! This three-day luxury event will take the participants and their supercars to some of the highlights of the United Arab Emirates. Only 60 local and international participants gather in Abu Dhabi on the 18th of march with some of the most exotic cars in the world. One of the confirmed cars for the event is a very special Gemballa Mirage GT and there’s a lot more to look forward to… We will head out to Abu Dhabi next month to cover the event from start to finish, so stay tuned for more!

Royal Drive 2010 Event Schedule & Highlights:
Royal Drive 2010 kicks off on Thursday 18th of march when the drivers gather at the 5 star Yas Hotel at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. Yas Island is host to the Yas Marina F1 track that hosted the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix for the first time this year. The hotel is integrated with the track as the race track runs more or less through the hotel. Later this year the F1 track, multiple marina’s and golf courses on Yas Island will be accompanied by the first Ferrari theme park in the world: Ferrari World.
After a gala-dinner on the opening night the participants can have good nights rest for a track day at the Yas Marina Circuit the next morning, Friday 19th march. Thousands of horses will be unleashed on the fresh asphalt of the F1 track, something that will be viewed and enjoyed by spectators and press!
After lunch at the track the teams pack up and leave Yas Island for a brief visit to Abu Dhabi’s Corniche, the famous beach boulevard of the UAE’s capital. This boulevard also featured in the Top Gear episode where Richard Hammond races the Lamborghini Murcielago LP670 SV vs the McLaren SLR 722 Edition.
After this visit to the Abu Dhabi Corniche it’s time to head for Dubai and check in to the 5-star Intercontinental Hotel located directly at the Dubai Creek. The night promises to be one filled with entertainment!
After dinner the participants are invited to the Elements Music Concert in Dubai Festival City. At this 12 hour long music concert the select few Royal Drive participants will party the night away VIP style on tunes of Gorillaz, Sean Kingston, Tocadisco, SASH!, Guru Josh Project and other artists!
After a long night, the final day of the event will be very relaxed. A scenic route will take the supercars and their owners to Dubai Marina. The route will go over Sheikh Zayed Road (or ‘skyscraper alley’ as we like to call it), past the Burj al Arab and the Palm Jumeirah (the first man made island in the shape of a huge palm tree).
At the Dubai Marina the Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residences, a seaside shopping promenade, has been closed off for the event and the cars will be displayed to the public and automotive enthusiasts in Dubai. Brunch will be served for the participants in one of the 5-star resorts nearby, the rest of the afternoon the participants can relax and enjoy live entertainment at the beach. The event will end with a final presentation and award ceremony in celebration of an unforgettable weekend!

Nope, it’s a new event and the organizers have no affiliation with royal race at all.
