Spyshots Ferrari 599 Convertible Caught Testing

Could this be the Ferrari 599 ‘GTO’ Convertible caught testing in Marnello? Perhaps, because if you look closely at the top of the vehicle you can clearly see that the engineers taped the joint at the A-pillar suggesting a removable top.

The other pictures show that Ferrari is testing a new roof section on a GTO mule. The new roofless prancing horse will most likely use the same V12 engine delivering a total of 670hp at 8250rpm with a maximum torque of 620Nm at 6500rpm. The engine is also found in the 2011 Ferrari 599 GTO except it will develop an extra 25hp to counteract the added weight of the convertible top.

The new 599 cabrio will be offered in limited numbers. Official debut will be made in August at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California.

  1. I thought they were only making regular 599 into a convertible. If they make a 599 GTO Spyder, it is going to be my favorite Ferrari of all time
