One-off SR-71 Mustang Sells for $ 375,000

US-based tuner Roush has revealed the auction price of the one-off SR-71 Mustang auctioned off at the AirVenture show in OshKosh, Wisconsin. It sold for $ 375,000 (€ 286,520)!

Carroll Shelby and Jack Roush teamed up to design, engineer and produce the charity SR-71. The Ford Mustang special edition was of course inspired by the SR-71 “Blackbird”, the long-range reconnaissance USAF aircraft built by Lockheed Martin. All the money will support the EAA’s (Experimental Aircraft Association) Young Eagles program.

  1. There is no variation of a Mustang that is worth $375,000…unless it has $375K worth of currency in the truck. Complete and utter waste of money. It won’t be a collector’s item and its resale will be less than $80,000 by next year.

  2. Thats why its called charity. people with endless amount of money need some way to spend it. Its makes them look better doing it through ways like this haha
