Spyshots Audi R4 Prototype Shows Its Face

You are looking at a mysterious vehicle parked somewhere near a ski jump in Austria. If you look closely it looks like a new Audi coupé sports car. Rumours suggest that this is a new production-ready Audi R4 Coupé to debut in Paris.

The design of this shorter version of the RS5 resembles the Audi E-tron concept shown to us at the 2010 Detroit Motor Show. The vehicle follows in the footsteps of the legendary Audi Sport Quattro. Official information or technical data are not available yet. Only a few highlights are visible such as the massive brake discs, headlights in the style of the previous e-tron concepts, a high and steep back-end and an imposing rear exhaust pipe. Rumours suggest a five-cylinder turbo unit.

The lightweight Audi Sport-Quattro – a name rumoured by Autobild.de – has a target weight of 1400kg. The production model (coming in 2012) will have rear seats, 19- or 20 inch wheels, ceramic brakes, a newly designed aero kit, larger air intakes, wider skirts with additional brake cooling, dynamic steering, magnetic-ride suspension and a quattro sport differential.

Additionally, Audi is rumored to debut a roadster version of the compact e-tron concept at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.
