Official Preview 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS

Sources have told Autoblog.com that the second generation Mercedes CLS 63 AMG will make its official debut at next month’s Los Angeles Auto Show. The information suggests that the 2011 Mercedes CLS 63 AMG will swap the previous 6.2 liter engine to Mercedes’s new 5.5 liter biturbo V8 engine developing 544hp at 5500rpm and 800Nm of torque between 2000rpm and 4500rpm.

The power will be transfered via Merc’s latest seven-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission to the rear wheels. The 2011 Mercedes CLS 63 AMG will be available with an optional AMG Performance Package increasing the power output up to 571hp at 5500rpm and 900Nm of torque between 2500rpm and 3750rpm.

The more aggressive exterior appearance includes large AMG wheels and a host of LED lamps up front. Interior refinement will likely feature sport seats, a smaller-diameter steering wheel with paddle shifters and carbon fiber trim.

Pricing is unknown at this stage, but stay tuned for more from the LA Motor Show.
