More Pictures 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392

Dodge has released a new series of pictures of the limited 2011 Challenger SRT8 392, of which only 1,492 examples will be built. 1,100 are heading to the U.S. and 392 to Canada. The most potent edition of the Challenger is powered by a new 392-cubic inch HEMI V8 engine which sends 470hp and 470lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. This is an additional 90lb-ft of torque at 2,900rpm versus the previous 6.1 liter V8 engine.

The Inaugural Edition model is available in two colors and new full-body stripe combinations: Deep Water Blue with standard Stone White stripes or Bright White Clear Coat with standard Viper Blue stripes. The front grille features a body-color grille surround. “392 HEMI” badges flank both fenders touting. The Mopar quad exhaust tips deliver the performance exhaust note. The Challenger SRT8 392 Inaugural Edition rides on standard 20 inch SRT exclusive wheels that feature a polished face and satin black painted pockets.

The race-inspired interior of the Challenger SRT8 392 begins with standard Smooth Pearl White leather-trimmed seats and dual blue stripes accented by blue stitching. Each of the front seats features an embroidered “392” just below the headrest. The center instrument panel, center stack and console bezels feature a silver metal brush finish. The door trim panels also feature silver metal brush grab handles inside Pearl White door bolsters with blue accents. A serialized “Inaugural Edition 392 HEMI” dash plaque, showing the sequential build number from 1 to 1,492 rounds out the interior content.

The performance on the street and at the track is sure to turn heads with numbers such as 0-100km/h (62mph) in high four-second range and quarter-mile elapsed time in the high 12 seconds.

  1. Great car, But needs more power compared to the Mustang and the soon to be released Camaro z28. The “skunk” stripes gotta go, that look is getting old and lets leave those decals to the Ford Shelby boys (yuk)
Mopar has always been “king of the decals” so lets use some thought in that regard!
I want one though, minus the “skunk” stripes.

  2. in view of the competition from ford boss 302 and camero z28 the challenger needs an all aluminum hemi with at least 525 hp to compensate for car weight.
