If there’s one thing that cannot be blamed to the automotive world, are the efforts to respect the evironment. Some manufacturers even take the step of producting electrical vehicles.
At the Geneva Motor Show last year Aston Martin revealed their Cygnet, a Toyota IQ based city car with a price tag of about £ 30,000 (€ 36,000 – $ 47,000).
The car got a lot of admirable responses, but also a lot of misunderstanding. Why should a manufacturer as Aston Martin, who is specialized in supercars ever created this?
It now seems that other brands also might have interests into a smaller city cars. It is proven by this rendering from Maserati, called the Turismini. A complete anticlimax with respect to the yesterday announced Italian SUV. It is unsure if Maserati will ever create the city car.

Nice article, but I’m not very amused you deleted my name. I still made it. ;)
Dequal should be credited for his design.
“Why should a manufacturer as Aston Martin […] ever created this?”
They don’t want to, but it helps lower their average emissions ratio, as required by european regulations.
Dequal,
I simply forgot to put in the link back to you.
I will change that asap, can’t do it atm.
