Mercedes have used the Montreal Auto Show to unveil a new special edition C63 AMG tailored to the Canadian market. Just thirty copies of the C63 AMG Affalterbach Edition will be offered to Canadian Mercedes customers.
So what’s so special about the Affalterbach Edition?
For starters, it was designed at the AMG Performance Centre in Affalterbach, Germany. It also features a number of unique styling cues and an impressive list of fresh equipment.
The Affalterbach Edition is finished in MAGNO Allanite Grey paintwork, finished off with high-performance AMG brakes with red callipers and 19 inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels in black. The car features carbon fiber mirror housings and a rear lip spoiler.
Power is from the same 6.2 liter V8 engine offering slightly more power than the standard C63 AMG; 481 horsepower and 443lb-ft of torque giving 0 to 100km/h times of 4.4 seconds.
The interior features an Affalterbach logo prominently displayed on the gearshift lever and embossed onto the headrests. Red contrast stitching distinguishes the black AMG Nappa leather sport seats. AMG carbon fiber trim, floor mats with red leather piping and a special Affalterbach Edition identification badge identifies every car with its unique “1 of 30” designation.
The Affalterbach Edition includes the C63 AMG Premium Package, which includes a rear view camera, parktronic, command aps with HDD navigation and DVD changer, a multi-media interface, a rear window sunshade, Harman/Kardon Logik7 surround sound system and keyless-go. It also has the AMG Performance Package, which adds the 30 additional horsepower, an AMG Trunk lid spoiler in carbon-fiber, red brake callipers, a limited-slip differential and a top speed of 280km/h.
The Mercedes-Benz C63 Affalterbach Edition will be available in spring 2011 priced from $ 81,500 (€ 61,050).
