Leaked: This is The 2012 Lamborghini LP700-4 Aventador

Just after we revealed the brand new Aston Martin Virage exclusively on our front page, we can now show the first official picture of the brand new Lamborghini. People, this is the 2012 Lamborghini LP700-4 Aventador in a wonderful red dress.

The ultimate successor to the Murcielago has leaked into the world, because the lead time required for print magazines has once again proven to be the best possible way to leak information ahead of a major release. This time it is Evo Magazine Croatia who placed a photo into their magazine. It found its way to the inbox of WorldCarFans via an anonymous tipster.

It is just a few hours after Lamborghini revealed photos of the naked rolling chassis of the LP700-4 Aventador super sports car.

The Aventador comes with 6.5 liter V12 engine that produces 700hp and 690Nm of torque. Linked to a seven-speed ISR automatic gearbox the power is converted to the Haldex four-wheel drive system. A sprint from zero to 100km/h is done in less than 3,0 seconds, 2.9 to be precise. The top speed is 350km/h.

  1. Does that meet pedestrian safety regulations? The fronts of cars are supposed to be designed to bump pedestrians off to the side with minimal injury. It looks like the legs / ankles of the pedestrian would get caught or even punctured.

It must have passed, but I would rather be hit by something else.

From that angle, it looks a lot like the Murcielago, but with a revised front bumper.

  2. Come on, we’ve all seen the spyshots and we know why this teaser is a view from the top… because the beauty of this car comes from its new sides (with these huge air scoops).

That’s why I’ll keep my official comment for the offical release.

    It’s not bosnian, it’s croatian!
Croatian EVO, croatian comments. Ever heard of free speach?

    Zato odbije.

  5. Bosnian=Croatian.

I think it would be polite to speak english here, as all members from different countries do.

I respect that information came from EVO Croatia (which I also read in Bosnia BTW), but lets speak the language that we all understand.

I think the car will look awesome, even better than on these pics which were taken from a certain angle which doesn’t truly show the lines.

Fico 850, pozdrav iz Sarajeva, imate najbolji auto magazin na ovim prostorima ! ;D
