Imola Orange Acura NSX

The development of the spiritual successor to the discontinued Acura NSX is continueing as we speak. President Takanobu Ito stated that they are working hard on the new sports car that would be exhilarating to drive but also environmentally friendly.

There are no details on the timeline for its lunach, but it is expected to use an electric drivetrain to give the gasoline engine a boost, a Honda spokesman said. The car will be positioned as a high-performance counterpart to the Honda CR-Z sporty hybrid.

Ito’s predecessor Takeo Fukui killed plans for a NSX replacement as one of several cost-saving cutbacks at the beginning of the crisis period. The initial plan included a front-mounted V10 engine producing at least 500hp. It would have followed the first-generation NSX, which had a mid-mounted V6.

Stay tuned for the first release and official information from Japan.

  1. That’s it! It’s confirmed. Honda will never again produce real sports cars. It’s a shame. They made some of the best cheap sports cars in the world.
