Audi will offer a limited edition run of it’s V8 R8 for British customers in celebration of its win at the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans. All will be coupé models available with either a manual or R Tronic automated manual transmission.
A hunderd examples will be produced and owners will be able to choose all normally optional metallic and pearl effect paint options. Audi will also make available the option of a new titanium-effect paint job, at extra cost, and enhanced equipment. Titanium-finish 19 inch alloys will be fitted to this car, inspired by the R8 GT Coupé. Cars will also feature red brake callipers.
Standard equipment includes Audi magnetic ride, satellite navigation, the Audi Music Interface (AMI), interior light package, Bang and Olufsen sound system and Bluetooth mobile phone preparation with integrated seat-belt microphones.
Inside, the design theme includes crimson red accents to the black nappa leather-upholstered seats and headrests. This continues onto the steering wheel and instrument cluster. An optional carbon package is also available which adds carbon sigma sideblades, door mirrors, monoposto, inlays and door sill trims. A carbon engine bay is also included with this.
Under the bonnet, the R8 V8 limited edition will be capable of 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds with a 187mph top speed. Economy figures will be 21.2mpg and emmissions of CO2 310g/km with the R-tronic gearbox.
Owners will pay £ 93,935 for the car and order books will open in July for an October delivery. As already mentioned, the R8 V8 Limited Edition will only be available to UK customers.
