Carlsson has presented the CK63 RS based on the Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG. The German tuner will officially unveil the Carlsson CK63 RS at the 2011 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show.

For the second time, Carlsson has redefined the most powerful edition of the Mercedes-Benz CLS (type C 218). The Carlsson CK63 RS is based on the Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG with Performance Package.

On the outside, Carlsson has enhanced the styling and coupé-style contours of the Mercedes CLS by adding an aerodynamic package. At the front, the CLS received a new front spoiler and carbon fiber front spoiler lip. The aggressive yet elegant looks is further defined by the black painted stainless steel grille inserts. The discreet spoiler on the trunk lid and the rear skirt insert with its carbon rear diffuser ensures extra down force and stability at high speeds.

The engine of the CLS 63 AMG with Performance Package under the long bonnet now produces 649hp and 900Nm of torque, compared to the original 557hp and 800Nm. This allows the Carlsson CK63 RS to reduce the time for the sprint from 0 to 100km/h from 4.3 to 4.1 seconds.

Finally, the Carlsson stainless steel sport exhaust system with four oval end pipes gives the CK63 RS a distinctive sound. Also for smaller diesel and gasoline engines, Carlsson offers performance kits with the three year guarantee. The performance kit CK50 for the CLS 500 for instance raises the output of the engine from 408hp and 600Nm of torque to 475hp and 687Nm.

The Carlsson CK63 RS is equipped with lightweight alloy wheels up to 20 inch consisting out of five single and five double spokes. These are also available as casted wheels in three different color variants: Brilliant Edition, Graphite Edition and Titanium Edition.

The car has been lowered as well. The Carlsson patented suspension with two sport springs lowers the CLS by 30mm at the front axle and thus allows an even more agile drivability. This intelligent suspension continuously monitors the situation of the road. Depending on the road conditions, the controlling device adapts the residual spring travel every 150 milliseconds, thus ensuring optimum comfort and driving dynamics.

For the interior, the tuner from Merzig in Germany offers fine materials such as leather, exclusive Alcantara, carbon fiber, wood and several other exclusive natural materials. The seats and door panels as well as the rear seat bench have been covered in Mokka brown Carlsson nappa leather.

Furthermore the enhancements are reflected by the carbon inlays in dark brown/matte which can be found among others in the dashboard, the door panels and the centre console. Other parts like the illuminated door sill panels, soft velor floor mats featuring the Carlsson logo and door pins made of brushed aluminum further contribute to the stylish appearance of the CLS’ interior. But the interior can be personalized as well, the number of variants is unlimited.

Carlsson includes a three-year warranty up to 100,000 kilometers and a TÜV certificate so that the components can easily be included with the rest of the vehicle’s documentation. The Carlsson CK63 RS will be unveiled in Frankfurt, so stay tuned for more news coming from the IAA 2011.
