IAA 2011 Alpina D5 BiTurbo

Alpina has unveiled the D5 BiTurbo at the 2011 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show. The Bavarian BMW specialist has created a more powerful version of the diesel powered BMW 535d.

The turbocharged straight-6 automobile engine received an overhaul. Alpina has increased the power to 350 horsepower, up from the standard 306hp. The increase in torque is still unknown. The power is transferred to the rear-wheels via an Alpina-tuned eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. The D5 BiTurbo is capable of a sprint to 100km/h in 5,2 seconds and a top of 270km/h.

The Alpina D5 Bi-Turbo comes with a new aerodynamics package to suit either 5 Series sedan, or Touring (wagon) model. This package includes a front apron, rear diffuser, and a rear spoiler. Also the car is fitted with the quintessential Alpina Classic 20 inch wheels. The interior is fitted with all kind of luxury and a full leather trim with adjustable sport seats.
