Lamborghini Aventador vs 911 GT2 RS vs Mercedes SLS

The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 is currently one of the fastest cars available. Acceleration from standstill to 100km/h is done in just 2.9 seconds, to 200km/h in less than nine seconds and the top speed is 350km/h.

These performance figures are made possible thanks to its 6.5 liter V12 engine with an output of 700hp and 690Nm of torque. Weighing just 1,575 kilograms, the Aventador has a power to weight ratio of 2.25kg/hp.

If the Lamborghini Aventador can live up to its performance claims, the four-wheel drive supercar should easily beat the much cheaper Porsche 911 GT2 RS and Mercedes SLS AMG. The guys of Autocar organized a drag race on an empty airstrip featuring the Italian supercar and the two German rivals. Check the video below to see if the Lamborghini can indeed live up to its performance claims.

I browsed some youtube videos vador and I couldn’t find a stand still start between the GT2RS and the GTR, I found a rolling start which is a whole different race. Don’t get me wrong, the Aventador is one of the greatest performing cars in its class, I would just like to see another all wheel drive car in a drag race.

Just stunning how the Aventador performes!

The GT2 RS is almost equivalent to the GTR (2011) on a drag race (check the web and youtube), so I guess the aventador trasches them all.

    I want that Lambo.

    GT-R is for teenagers ;)

You are absolutely right Chris, I agree the GTR would have been a better comparison and I too would love to see the Aventador on the Nurburgring…

Standing still starts between a rear wheel drive car vs an all wheel drive car is pretty useless. We all know who is going to win. I think they should of added another all wheel drive car, such as the GTR to have a better comparison with the launches. I absolutely love the Aventador, I would like to see how it does on the Nurburgring!
