At the Geneva Motor Show 2012, we’ve caught up with a familiar Alpina product in the shape of this Alpina B5 BiTurbo. The design is the same as the one we got to review last year. Based on the 5-Series, the Buchloe, Germany-based tuner added a new bodykit and power pack that increases the desirability of the BMW 550i, providing an alternative to the BMW M5!

The 4.4 liter twin-turbo “N63″ V8 receives two Honeywell-Garrett turbochargers, which sit inside the V of the two cylinder banks, working in parallel to force-feed the aluminum engine. This gives enough extra boost for 507hp at 5,500rpm and 700Nm from 3,000rpm.
