BMW has shown the 2013 BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe to the public and press. The four-door, 4+1 seat sedan is on display on the BMW stand at this year’s Geneva Auto Salon. We went over to the stand of the Germans to check out the brand new model.

The direct competitor to the Porsche Panamera, Mercedes-Benz CLS and Audi A7 follows in the tyre tracks of the Convertible and Coupe is the first four-door Coupe in the history of the brand.

The Germans offer a range of engines with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology; BMW 640i Gran Coupe with a six-cylinder in-line petrol engine (320hp), twin-scroll turbocharging, direct injection and Valvetronic; the BMW 640d Gran Coupe (313hp) with a variable sequential turbocharging and common-rail direct injection available from launch; and the flagship BMW 650i Gran Coupe with a new eight-cylinder engine (450hp), two turbochargers, direct injection and Valvetronic. All model variants are fitted as standard with an eight-speed sports automatic transmission and Driving Experience Control switch.

Chassis technology including Electric Power Steering and Dynamic Damper Control come as standard. Integral Active Steering and Adaptive Drive available as an option. BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive is available from launch of the BMW 650i Gran Coupe.

Geneva Motor Show 2012

The $ 76,895 – including $ 895 Destination and Handling Charge – TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder powered 640i Gran Coupe is the initial model of the range, and arrives early this summer in the US.
