Here at the Geneva Motor Show 2012, we have been really interested into what German hypercar builder Gumpert have to offer with the new Gumpert Apollo R. It is a track-only version of the ultra-fast Gumpert Apollo. We sent a photograher to get a closer look at this beast!

Gumpert have build the Gumpert Apollo R to rival the Pagani Zonda R. In this form, the Apollo’s 4.2 liter twin-turbocharged V8 will feature a staggering 860hp. With all this power, Gumpert are hoping to beat their 7 minute 11:57 time on the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Gumpert conservatively estimate 308km/h as the top speed depending on the gearbox ratio, a 0-100km/h time of 2.9 seconds and 8.6 seconds to 200km/h.
