Geneva 2012: Ferrari California Lightweight with Handling Speciale Package

Ferrari have ammended the California for the Geneva Motor Show 2012. The new Ferrari California Lightweight loses thirty kilograms and gets an increase in power output by 30hp. Ferrari also unveiled the Handling Speciale package, which can be fitted to any Ferrari California model purchased new from the factory.

The Ferrari California’s GDI V8 now delivers 490hp and a maximum torque of 505Nm at 5,000rpm, thanks to new exhaust manifolds and engine mapping. As mentioned above, weight is reduced by 30kg’s thanks to modifications to the aluminium chassis. The Handling Speciale package includes Magnetorheological dampers giving fifty percent increased response time, stiffer springs and a quicker steering ratio.
