The Italians at Lamborghini has two premieres at their stand here on the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. Next to the best supercar of the show, the 2.1 million euro Lamborghini Aventador J they had the European premiere of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder, which was introduced at the Los Angeles Motor Show at the end of 2011.
The Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder comes, as the name suggests, as a roofless variant of the popular LP550-2 Valentino Balboni Edition that has been on sale for nearly two years now. Same as the coupe, the spyder will use the 550hp strong V10 pushing al power though the e-gear transmission to the rear wheels.
The sprint from standstill to 100km/h is done in just 4.2 seconds and a top speed will be reached at 317km/h. Awaiting live pictures from Los Angeles we can tell you that the LP550-2 Spyder weighs just 3,351 pounds and that it sits on 19 inch rims with standard Pirelli P Zero rubber around it.
