British sports car maker AC Cars has teamed up with Italian styling house Zagato. They are planning to produce an unique 378 GT Zagato, based on the Perana Z-One.

The 378 GT is powered by a 6.2 liter V8 similar to the one found in a Corvette, but it has been tuned to produce 434bhp. The new model will be sold alongside the firm’s traditional Cobra line-up and will cost £ 90,000.

The new owner of AC Cars has the intension to revive the brand. A new team will be building the older cars at the AC Heritage Centre at Brooklands in Surrey, UK. The newer cars will be assembled in Germany and South Africa.

The 378 GT Zagato is the first in a lineup of new cars to be released over the year. A limited run of AC Ace Bristol Zagato is being considered, and this Summer, the AC Ace Classic returns as a small version of the Cobra sold for less than £ 50,000 in the UK.
