The all-new 2014 Maserati Quattroporte, updated and enlarged, had its first spy photos leak out today ahead of its rumored debut at this September’s Paris Motor Show.

Maserati engineers have done quite a good job disguising the completely reworked chassis and bodywork. From the photos, it does appear that the Quattroporte will now sport a hatch at the rear of the car, akin to the Porsche Panamera. Although nothing is certain until the car hits showroom floors.

Under the hood, speculation is abundant. The obvious assumption is engine and drivetrain will be shared with Ferrari. Although, multiple sources have speculated that the new Quattroporte could source some parts from Chrysler (now owned by Fiat and so on). And you can be certain the rumor mill will only heat up more the closer we get to the unveil.

Take a look at the spy photos for yourself. Not much to see so far, but a new Maserati is always good news, right?

  1. It’s all speculation from the photos. A hatch on the same idea as the Panamera or A7 sportback is what the (rumor) consensus seems to be at the moment, not the traditional full rear hatch. Take a look at the back of the car in the photo, the camo does appear to be hiding something.
