Less than a week after Porsche unveiled the 2013 Porsche Boxster (S) at the Geneva Motor Show, the praise has begun to roll in from auto journalists across the net. It’s a seriously good car. The Boxster (S) is equipped with a 3.4 liter six-cylinder getting it up to a top speed of 173mph, with 60mph coming up in a little over five seconds.

A recently shared image via Twitter made at the official press introduction of the new roadster states that the 2013 Boxster S lapped the infamous Nurburgring in a blinding 7:58. That’s twelve seconds quicker than its former iteration which, according to official times, was in the ballpark of 8:10. The new Boxster’s lap time is a seemingly massive jump.

It is interesting to note that the new Porsche 911 (991) also beat its former generation by 13 seconds around the Green Hell. Par for the course, then?
