Early February the BMW i8 concept was spotted testing in Sweden. Now new details leaked that shed more light on the production model.

The car is planned to be launched in 2014 and will be presented with a better power and performance ratio than the concept car we saw in Frankfurt last year.

The production model will come with 393hp, which is 44hp more than the concept we saw earlier. The electric motor will be producing about 170hp, the rest of the output will come from a 1.5 liter turbocharged three-cylinder. Torque is still rated at 550Nm. The power will brought to the wheels via a four-speed transmission and will make a sprint from standstill to 100km/h possible in just 4.9 seconds.

Prices haven’t been released so far, but we can expect to easily excess € 100,000.
