This year sees the return of the Donington Historic Festival. After the success of its first year held at Donington Park Race Circuit. England UK the event which took place on 5th-6th May 2012 came back bigger and better.

In its first year more than 300 cars took to the track across the various races, this year was no different. The event also placed its focus on the Car Clubs that were in attendance on the Infield of the track. Many car enthusiasts flocked to the event to showcase their pride and joys. These ranged from Lotus, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Aston Martin and Ferrari to name a few.

The Ferrari Owners Car Club was breathtaking and some stunning models were on display from the Ferrari 430 Spider F1 to the Ferrari 575M Coupe.

The racing weekend had various races that took place from the ‘Mad Jack’ for Pre War sports cars to the Group C Sports Cars. On Sunday Sir Stirling Moss was to take to the track in the Jaguar C Type that he drove to obtain victory in the 1952 Reims Grand Prix 60 years ago.

The group C Sports Car race was host to many stunning examples of racing excellence such as the Porsche 956, Mercedes C9, Jaguar XJR58 all of which drove around the track effortlessly. Any car enthusiast would appreciate the speed, handling and race setup of these cars. Hearing the engines roar and the drivers showboating for the fans added extra excitement to the event.

Im sure that next years event will be just as explosive and successful as the last two years have been.
