You might remember Fox Marketing’s SEMA show presentations from 2009, the Lexus IS-F and IS350C. It seems that recently, the cars were sent to the junk yark the be dismantled and destroyed. A set of images have been released via Autoguide that show the cars sitting in a Las Vegas junk yard, without wheels, waiting to be scraped.

Of course, there are legitimate reasons for the decision to scrap both cars. They were both registered as show cars for Fox Marketing which means that neither car has a VIN or registration plate. This had the benefit, for Fox Marketing and Lexus, of being a tax write off. The side effects are though, that the models are not legally allowed to be sold as they are not part of the production line. It seems that the cars have been stripped of as much as it is legally possible to remove.

The Fox Marketing Lexus IS-F featured a twin-turbo 5.0 liter V8 pumping out 600hp. The bodykit on this car featured new side skirts, a refreshed front and back bumper and a new set of 20 inch wheels. The colour is unique to this car. The Fox Marketing Lexus IS350C featured a 3.5 liter V6 engine with 405hp. It had a new supercharger and intercooler along with several IS-F parts.

Fox Marketing have promised some further details along with a video and some photos. For now we will just have to wait and see what happens to these cars. It’s sad but there is a legitimate reason for doing such a think! Both cars still have working engines inside.

Update: We added the video showing the scrapping of both cars.
