Chris Harris and the DRIVE YouTube channel drove the new Audi RS4, tried the original B5, the amazing B7 and then matched the latest version against the 6.2 liter Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.

The Audi RS4 Avant uses the same high-revving, normally aspirated V8 engine that powers the RS5 Coupe. The 4,163cc powerplant produces 450hp at 8,250rpm for a specific output of 108.1hp per liter. Its maximum torque of 430Nm is available from 4,000 to 6,000rpm. The V8 with its red-painted cylinder head covers accelerates the RS4 Avant from zero to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds on its way to a governed top speed of 250km/h. This can be increased to 280km/h upon request.

  1. Thanks Chris! Great clip. Although, I like the fact the RS4 has so many settings, some of us love to fiddle. I was ery surprised to find out how little torque there was, in my A4 premium I have more torque than horses. I suppose it’s because it’s naturally aspirated. I do hope Audi makes the sedan version and with more balls. As always Chris, spot on!!
