Maciej Soroczynski recently attended the Polish Car Championships at Poznan to shoot a few pictures and soak in the atmosphere. He was most interested in the two litre plus engine category. We’re glad that he did too, there’s plenty to see here. The cars range from Ferrari 430 Challenge cars to the unique Pagani Zonda GR.

In fact, these pictures give us a perfect opportunity to explain what the Pagani Zonda GR is. Obviously it isn’t a factory produced Zonda R. It was modified from a Zonda S by Carsport Modena and debuted at 2003 24 Hours of Le Mans. It didn’t do well and was sold on. Two Zonda GR’s exist, another better known example now sits in a garage in the US. The Zonda GR features a 7.0 liter AMG V12. Aside from that facts are a little thin on the ground!

It easily set the fastest lap during the Polish Car Championship. In the hands of Czech drivers Antonin Herbeck and Jakub Kubas, the Pagani Zonda GR ran a 1.31,622 minute lap compared to its nearest competitior, the Ferrari 430 GT2 with a time of 1.34,056 minutes.
