Aston Martin chose today to lift the lid on the Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster. We’ve seen it before, both in the form of official pictures and on the public roads via Alex Penfold. However, now we have confirmed details from official sources! The V12 Vantage Roadster is Aston Martin’s latest extreme sports car.

The Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster will be made available as a limited edition in selected markets worldwide. It features Aston Martin’s naturally aspirated 6.0 liter V12 engine mated to a traditional six-speed manual gearbox. It produces 517hp at 6,500rpm and 570Nm of torque at 5,750rpm. This makes it capable of a 0-100km/h sprint in just 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 305km/h.

The Roadster also gets a “Sport” mode button, which enables the driver to select between two different powertrain modes. Normal mode is the default from start-up, suited to ‘everyday’ driving situations. Sport mode, is designed for use in more dynamic driving situations. It creates sharper responses, a sharper throttle response, more torque and the Exhaust system bypass valves are also kept open for longer.

Some features of the Roadster are carried over from the V12 Vantage Coupe, some elements are redesigned. The V12 Vantage Roadster features a different rear boot lid and lower front air intake to bring the handling dynamics closer to its coupe counterpart. The chassis gets a few changes including a modified rear damper set-up, front and rear damper valve tuning and a new rear spring design.

The V12 Vantage Roadster gets carbon fibre side strakes, a carbon fiber front splitter and rear diffuser, carbon fiber mirror caps and carbon fiber rear lamp infills. The alloy wheels design is brand new. The rear boot lid incorporates a more pronounced lip and the diffuser houses a large, centre-mounted oil cooler and two large exhaust tips. Both front splitter and rear diffuser are hand weaved.

Inside, the V12 Vantage Roadster uses glass switches in the lower center stack. A n interior trim package comprising carbon fiber facia and carbon fiber gearshift surround is available.
