Mercedes-Benz AMG CLS Shooting Brake

Mercedes-Benz has released the first video series of the recently launched CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake, which won’t be available in the United States.

The Mercedes CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake comes with the same specs as its four-door sports-coupe sibling, the CLS 63 AMG. The 5.5 liter V8 biturbo engine is available with 525hp and 700Nm of torque, or tuned though the optional ‘Edition 1’ package to 557hp and 800Nm of torque. This enables the AMG Shooting Brake to accelerate from standstill to 100km/h sprint in 4.4 and 4.3 seconds respectively, and to hit an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.

Deliveries of the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake will start in October 2012. But the Shooting Brake won’t come to the United States. A company spokesman told Automotive News Europe that the decision was made due to “the continued aversion to wagons by U.S. car buyers.”
