Apparently the SSC are not quite finished with the Ultimate Aero yet! Despite attentions turning to the brand new Tuatara, the US company will release the limited edition SSC Ultimate Aero. Only five will be built and we’re told that they will feature technology originally set aside for the Tuatara.

The engine will be a 1,300hp version of the Tuatara power plant. That’s a 6.8 liter DOHC V8 twin-turbo unit and the 1,300hp figure actually represents a de-tune from the Tuatara’s 1,350hp. Coupled to the engine is a 7-speed paddle shift gearbox, also from the Tuatara, as is the cooling, fuel, and brake system.

The SSC Ultimate Aero XT gets a triple disc carbon clutch and dual water-to-air intercoolers. One unique feature of the car will be the customer’s choice of colour. Once the theme has been applied to the car, it won’t be seen again on an Ultimate Aero or Tuatara model. Pricing is yet to be announced.

  1. I’m embarassed for them. That is seriously the worst rendering I have ever seen. Tornadoes and hot-wheels, It’s like what a fourth-grader draws.

I imagine this to be what rednecks buy when they win the lottery.
