Pictures of the Porsche 991 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S models hit the web today, slighty earlier than Porsche expected them to! The planned official release will follow on Monday before the car heads towards the Paris Motor Show for an official unveil. These images give us a quick sneak peak at the changes, aside from the four-wheel drive system, that will characterise the latest Porsche model.

It’s difficult to tell from the pictures, however, the new Carrera 4 gets a wider rear end. We’ll find out on Monday if Porsche stuck with the clutch-based differential they used in the 997. Aside from these two changes, the Carrera 4 and 4S models will retain the same basic mechanical components as the rest of the 991 model range.

The Carrera 4 will get 3.4 liter, producing 350hp and the Carrera 4S will use the direct injection 3.8 liter flat-six engine with 400hp. Expect a lower top speed and similar performance figures. Both Cabriolet and Coupe versions will be unveiled together!
