McLaren has released a new front bumper for the MP4-12C developed by McLaren Special Operations (MSO), their bespoke project division. Available as a factory or retrospective fitted option for both the MP4-12C and MP4-12C Spider, the more aggressive styling is designed for a more dynamic visual impact.

The lower section of the colour-coded bumper, framing the air intakes, is constructed from carbon fiber, while the front floor is made from race-derived carbon Kevlar. This new floor section incorporates additional diffusers, which delete the tyre spoilers fitted to the standard MP4-12C models.

  1. A lesson in ;

    How to take sterile and dull

    Give it a smily face :o)

    And make it even duller …. all for a few thousand quid no doubt

    ……zzzzzzz

  2. The new grille is an omission that the car’s design is bland, and still, not much improvement. McClaren’s clinical approach to developing cars is manifested in their designs. Cars do you reflect the values of companies who make them.

  3. I think this does make it look quite a bit better. It looks like more of a solid muscular shape rather than having a bit missing at the front. I think if they’d released it this way at the start it would never have gained a strong reputation for having bland styling in the first place – but since they didn’t they will probably find it hard to shake that reputation even with this styling tweak.
