Shelby American has released their new Shelby GT500 Super Snake for the 2013 model year. With a base model rated at 662hp and an optional 850hp version, the limited edition 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake also features new styling cues, color options and optional performance upgrades at a lower base price.
Only 500 total 2013 Super Snakes will be built. The car is available as a coupe or convertible in the entire color palette offered by Ford Motor Company on the Shelby GT500. Customers can choose between Satin Black or Gloss White stripes to be paired with new wheels in Satin Black or Bright Silver Metallic, along with new silver and blue stripes paired with limited base vehicle colors.
Offered for the first time in Shelby American’s history will be a choice of rear-only or front and rear widebody packages with an optional 13 inch rear wheel and tire package, as seen on the Carroll Shelby Tribute car developed by Ford and Shelby American that was unveiled in Monterey.
Snake post title package includes in a standard base tune 662hp and 631lb-ft of torque, six-speed manual transmission with 3.31:1 rear axle ratio and short-throw shifter with optional 3.73:1 and upgraded suspension package. You will also get the Shelby Performance cooling package with a new radiator, heat exchanger and aluminum cooling tanks, new spoked Shelby-designed 20 inch wheels and performance tires and a Shelby / Borla exhaust system.
Optional is a Shelby / Ford Racing 850hp Whipple supercharger or 850hp Kenne Bell supercharger power package, but also Forged Shelby / Wildwood brakes with six-piston fronts and four-piston rear calipers and cross drilled / vented rotors, front brake cooling ducts and behind the door side scoops.
On the design subject the package offers an unique fiberglass hood featuring classic Shelby Super Snake design, Shelby lettering across the rear deck lid, Shelby signature Super Snake stripes in either matte black, matte white, silver or blue, Super Snake vehicle badges, and unique CSM number interior and engine plates.
An optional two-tone leather interior, Shelby signature embroidered headrests, floor mats and other Shelby designed components are available in the cabin.
The 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake package starts at $28,995 for the 662hp version and $39,995 for the 850hp model, not including the base car. Only 500 of these cars will be built, all at the Shelby American factory in Las Vegas.
Wow, 850hp? That’s impressive. The Super Snake looks pretty much the same I was hoping for a little more change, just a little. But overall it looks like a beast of a car!

i luv these cars, i have to get one, i in Aussie though so i have to get converted to RHD, left hand drive cars sux :).
I recently was enrolled in truck driving school earlier this year. My main goal was to finish and pursue the 2013 Shelby Gt500 super snake. Unfortunately I got hurt at work I tore my meniscus and wasn’t released back to school before my permit expired long story short I have to retake my permit and I shall finish and I will continue my pursuit for this AWSOME work of ART. I know adversity all to well and I’m not about to let it stop me. One day Shelby I’m coming for ya! :)
