Brabus are quick! We first saw the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake at the Goodwood Festival of Speed back in July. It’s three months later and already, Brabus are ready to present their upgrades for that car! The CLS Shooting Brake gets increased power across the range, aerodynamic enhancements, interior refinements and a new set of wheels.

The aerodynamic parts are available in Pur-R-Rim high-grade plastic or carbon fiber and feature a new front spoiler, front fascia, LED daytime running lights, sport fenders and side skirts. For AMG cars, Brabus offers an additional front spoiler lip.

The wheels are Brabus Monoblock’s in sizes ranging from 8.5Jx17 to 10.5Jx20. They are available in six different designs, Brabus Monoblock F, Q or R each with a diameter of 20 inches. The latest addition Monoblock R wheel two sets of five double spokes arranged in two plains. Tyres can be fitted from Continental, Pirelli or Yokohama’s range, for the 20 inch version, they come in size 255/30 ZR20 at the front and in size 295/25 ZR20 for the rear axle.

Suspension options are specifically calibrated to the tires. Bilstein helped develop the sport springs and suspension module that makes up the Brabus adjustments. Ride height of Airmatic suspension systems can be lowered by about 35 millimeters.

For the engine, Brabus firs new ECU control systems. The ECO PowerXtra D4 performance kit bumps the power output of the CLS 250 CDI BlueEfficiency by 31bhp to 235bhp and boosts peak torque to 560Nm. For the CLS 350 CDI BlueEfficiency there is Brabus Eco PowerXtra D6S tuning which raises power to 308bhp and 690Nm of torque. All the above enhancements can be fitted in 45 minutes at any authorised Mercedes-Benz workshop.

Brabus has the B50 kit, for the CLS 500 BlueEfficiency, producing 493bhp and a peak torque of 720Nm, enough for a top speed of 300km/h. For the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake, the 5.5 liter eight-cylinder Biturbo engine gets an auxiliary control unit for the engine electronics and an additional water-to-air intercooler powered by an auxiliary electric pump. It’s called the Brabus B63 and increases power to 610bhp and 1.000Nm of torque. From rest to 100km/h, it takes just 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 320km/h.

For the CLS63 AMG, a sport exhaust system with butterfly valves can be fitted. Two modes are available, a quiet “Coming Home” mode and a louder “Sport” mode. It’s a stainless-steel exhaust system with ceramic-coated dual tailpipes. For other engines, stainless-steel quad sport exhaust systems are also available.

Brabus offer a clutch-type limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent. It’s designed to optimizes traction and handling in fast corners on all CLS versions. Each car comes with a three-year Brabus tuning warranty up to 100,000km or 62,000 miles.

At their workshop, Brabus offers accessories and custom-tailored interiors crafted from Mastik leather and Alcantara. Scuff plates with backlit Brabus logo, a speedometer with 340km/h or 400km/h dial and rear tables are also available. 1. Lovely shots of the CLS shooting brake. Both this model and the previous CLS are excellent vehicles. A friend of mine has a 350CDi which hits 45mpg which is impressive for this type of car. I’m not sure of the CLS shooting brake but I suppose its Mercedes creating a new niche which they did with the CLS and now everyone is copying
