Audi has announced plans to produce a limited edition version of their popular R8 supercar especially for China. The special-edition will be see a limited production run of only 80 units, with all 80 to be offered to buyers in the People’s Republic.

Compared to the standard R8, the China Edition will receive bespoke interior elements, including leather and alcantara wrapped sport seats and steering wheel. Additional accents include a special aluminum gear knob, individually numbered with the serial number corresponding to the car. Audi has also confirmed they will skip any serial numbers which include the number four, to respect the cultural habit of Chinese customers.

Customers will be able to choose from two exclusive colors Malibu Blue or Suzuka Grey. Either color comes with special contrasting side blades, carbon fiber rear wing and custom 19-inch alloy wheels finished in gloss black.

Power will come from the standard V10, producing 525hp and 391lb-ft of torque. The China Edition will only be offered with Audi’s R-Tronic flappy-paddle transmission. No official word on pricing, as of yet.
