It literally feels just like yesterday since Audi introduced its facelifted R8 back in July ahead of its public debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, but already, journalists around the world have already began to sample it.

Motor Trend’s Jonny Lieberman was recently flown out to Italy to test out Audi’s brand new supercar at the San Marion track and the exciting roads which encase it in the top-of-the-range, Audi R8 V10 Plus.

The Audi R8 V10 Plus is the most powerful R8 produced to date, with its 5.2-liter Lamborghini-sourced engine developing 550hp and 540Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. When fitted with the S tronic gearbox, as Lieberman’s car was, the R8 V10 Plus can rocket to 100km/h in just 3.5 seconds and ultimately hit a top speed of 317km/h, just shy of the magic 200mph mark.
