Almost no car can compete with the popularity of tuning and modifying Corvette’s. As a matter of fact, Chevrolet Corvette’s in their outgoing generation have become increasingly popular to tune in the United States by firms such as Hennessey Performance and it’s little wonder why.

When specced correctly, Corvette’s are able to handle up to 2,000hp at the crank, like the one in this video, and can consequently become some of the fastest accelerating automobiles on the market.

At the recent Texas Invitational Event presented by Momentum BMW back in on the 12th-14th of October, a blue Corvette C6 producing 2,000hp thanks to two turbocharges was pitted against a highly-modified Nissan GT-R in a rolling drag race.

The result is one of the closest drag’s you’re ever likely to see and even though no details have been released about the tune of the GT-R, it’s very likely that it would be producing well over 1,000hp considering how close it is to the Corvette at the finish line.
