Report: Mastretta MXT-R Appearing at 2013 Autosport International

Mexico is known for a number of things, but sports cars is definitely not one of those. Nevertheless, the Mexican-born Mastretta MXT first previewed a couple of years ago is set to feature at the 2013 Autosport International event albeit in a slightly modified specification dubbed the MXT-R and should feature a few updates in the styling department as well as under the hood.

First and foremost, the new Mastretta MXT-R will feature a new aerodynamically-inspired body kit including a new front splitter and rear wing. The car is then expected to feature a 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine developing just 285hp, which is an increase of 35hp over the standard MXT.

No official photos of the car have been released just yet, but expect to see some in the coming days when the event kicks off on January 10th.
